Ryan Fournier, a co-founder of the political group Students for Trump, faced legal issues after reportedly assaulting a woman with a firearm, as per court records from Johnston County, North Carolina.
According to the records, Fournier was charged with misdemeanor assault on a female and assault with a deadly weapon on November 21. He was released on a $2,500 bond on the same day of his arrest.
The charging documents indicate that Fournier allegedly grabbed a woman’s arm and struck her forehead with a firearm. The woman’s identity has been redacted in the documents.
It was noted in the records that Fournier waived his right to assigned counsel for the case.
Efforts to reach out to Fournier for his response have been made by CNN.
The scheduled hearing for this case is set for December 18 at the Johnston County Courthouse.
Fournier, the chairman of Students for Trump, co-founded the organization during his freshman year at Campbell University in 2015. Additionally, he leads Radical Alert, an organization aiming to expose what it perceives as radical influences on American college campuses.
