An explosion at an auto shop in Ohio claimed the lives of three individuals, as reported by CNN affiliate WKRC.

The incident, which occurred around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, prompted the dispatch of firefighters from the Highland County area to respond to the explosion and subsequent fire at the shop. Paint Creek Joint EMS/Fire District Chief David Manning noted the significant impact of the explosion, stating it shook the surrounding neighborhood, even reaching their firehouse, located about 4 to 5 blocks away.

Additionally, one person was reported to have been transported to a hospital following the fire, according to WKRC.

The fire marshal’s office initiated an investigation at the scene on Tuesday evening, as mentioned by Manning, who also highlighted that no structural damage to nearby buildings was reported.

Located approximately 65 miles east of Cincinnati, Highland County lies in southern Ohio.
